Sanding

STR machines are every flooring contractors staple floor preparation machine. They are hugely versatile both for floor preparation and during the application process as needed. Primarily they are used as floor sanders and the sanding pads come with a wide range of grit sizes available. When carrying out initial floor preparation, using these machines purely as a sander would not be recommended as they cannot create enough of a key, however special adaptor plates can be added alongside grinding discs to effectively turn them into a triple head grinder. They are extremely useful on projects where due to timescales there may be a delay in application from the preparation stage. Here, they can be used to lightly abrade the floor again (after initial floor preparation) ready for installation. They can also be used between coats of an installation to achieve a smooth finish that will show through in the final finish.
