Oil Contamination

Prior to application of a resin system and during the preparation, the floor should be examined for any oil contamination especially within the engineering industry. Mechanical abrasion is not sufficient floor preparation for an oil contaminated surface and failure to treat this will lead to this to resin floor failing. If there is evidence of contamination or a client pre-warns about the possibility of it, then it is essential to pay careful attention for any signs during the preparation process. If any level of oil contamination is found, this should be treated with a specialist primer prior to further resin application.
