Diamond Grinding

This is probably the most common method of surface preparation within the resin flooring industry. There is a huge range of equipment available from small hand held grinders to large triple head machines, each designed to be attached to a vacuum for a dust free operation. Wide ranges of consumables are available for the machines, making them an ideal method of surface preparation. Specialist diamond plates can be selected for hard and soft concrete as well as for removal of coatings. Alongside these are PCD plates which can be used for removal of adhesives and tile beds. The triple head machines smooth and polish the floor leaving a perfect finish for subsequent floor finishes. At Signature, we have two of the larger triple head machines allowing us to carry out preparation both quickly and efficiently even over larger areas. This negates the need to outsource preparation work to shot-blasting companies and ensures, in our opinion, a much better profile of floor to apply the resin onto. Additionally, these machines can be used for polishing of both concrete and terrazzo for decorative resin finishes.
